Hoo, The Cattle Dog

Howdy y’all!

My name is Hoover and I’m a hard workin’ cattle dog.

My cowboy calls me Hoo!

HOWDY, I'M HOO!

HOWDY, I’M HOO!

Rustic Honey is out tonight so I thought I’d send you a quick recap of my weekend instead!

I worked with RH this weekend at a bull sale. Folks travel from all over the country to bid on a new bull and it is my job to make sure it all runs smooth! No pressure! Ruff, ruff! (HAHA!)bull1

Like most mornings on the farm, we start before the sun comes up. I love to watch the sun rise! bull5

Ah, the fresh morning air! Time to shake off my sleepiness!

Meet Slim and Lady, my partners for today’s sale.

MY PARTNERS FOR THE DAY!

MY PARTNERS FOR THE DAY!

“Round ’em up boys,” the cowboys command as we bring the bulls in from the field.

I have got my quick feet on today! See… even RH cannot capture my speed!!!

SO SPEEDY!

SO SPEEDY!

After we round up the bulls, it is time for a quick break before we start the sale. I lead the cowboys into the sale barn for a warm lunch.

Every cowboy needs somethin’ to warm his belly on a cold, winter’s day!

Cowboys love chili!

And I love summer sausage!!!

Hey Rustic Honey! The food looks great! Think you could save a few sausages for me?

Please don’t make me beg… there are cowboys watchin’!

After a quick break it’s back to work. We have over 100 head to lead into the sale today! “Ruff, ruff,” (tough work!).

Back to work!

Back to work!

The sale was a success and I had such a great time!

What can I say… all in a day’s work…

See ya ’round

    • Thanks, I’m really glad you liked it! I do remember those books now that you mention it! I need to find some of those for my nieces and nephew! They would love those books! 🙂
